The Process
The first step, once you've decided to have your home or business upgraded and enhanced is to arrange a showing with Chris. This is an exciting time where you get to explain your wishes and share your vision of what your space should look and feel like upon completion. If you aren't sure of what you you envision or if you don't know what is possible in terms of techniques, this is an opportunity for Chris to show you some of the wonderful possibilities. Perhaps you have a favorite painting, piece of furniture or fabric. Maybe you have a magazine article or a photo of some special place. These can all be sources of inspiration that can guide you and the artist through the creative process. If Chris doesn't have an exact sample that works for you he will go to his studio and create something that works specifically for you and your space. Something original that is custom tailored for you and your home or office. Imagine the possibilities!
The process can be anywhere from 2 to 6 base layers with 1 to 4 finish layers for final finish, sheen and protection. However the first, most important step is, Protection and Prep-Work. A masterful effort in the early stages of the project assures no harm to furniture or surrounding surfaces, while also guaranteeing long lasting and beautiful work, framed in razor sharp lines. Properly preparing and priming the substrate, where the work will be done, is as critical as top quality topcoats for the durability and longevity of your beautiful finishes. Of course there is the finish process itself which usually entails 2 to 4 layers of artistry, skillfully applied by brush, trowel or other tools which distinguish the best decorative artists from their counterparts. A Premium Faux Finish Job will be seamless and clean at the edges and corners. These basic principals apply whether the finish is to be done with paints and glazes, plasters or any combination thereof.
